Dr. Amarilis Sanchez-Valle is a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Genetics and Metabolism at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. She is triple board certified in Pediatrics, Clinical Genetics and Genomics, and Medical Biochemical Genetics.Her work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of inborn errors of metabolism and rare genetic disorders. As Principal Investigator in over 20 clinical trials—including studies that led to the approval of new therapies for metabolic diseases—she has helped advance clinical research and improve care for patients with rare conditions.Dr. Sanchez-Valle also serves as Regional Program Director for the Florida Newborn Screening Program and continues to lead efforts integrating clinical genetics with translational research and education to improve outcomes for children and families affected by rare diseases.
